“My passion is supporting individuals to achieve a better psychological wellbeing to live a fuller life”

My Approach

I am a Senior Clinical Psychologist, registered with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC). I have over 10 years of experience working in mental health settings across the NHS.

My passion is supporting individuals to achieve a better psychological wellbeing to live a fuller life. Collaboration with you is central to my approach, together we will build an understanding of your difficulties and plan as to how we might address them.

I use a range of evidence-based treatments according to the needs of the clients. This means that I may draw on more than one psychological model to best fit you. The main models I use to inform my practice include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Narrative Exposure Therapy (NET) and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT). I also use Mindfulness, Systemic approaches and Psychodynamic concepts.

I have extensive experience working with mild, moderate and severe and enduring mental health difficulties. I work with adults and young people.

As well as my private practice, my latest job was leading an NHS service for veterans with acute mental health difficulties. I now work for one of the UKs leading veteran mental health charities as a senior psychologist, specialising in Complex Trauma.

FAQs

1. Why see a Clinical Psychologist?

There are lots of different types of therapists out there such as Clinical & Counselling Psychologists, counsellors, CBT practitioners and life coaches, all with different skills, qualifications and fees. It can be really confusing to know where to start. During your free consultation we can think about what type of support is right for you, and if I feel you would benefit from a different type of practitioner, I will inform you of this.

As a Clinical Psychologist, I have had extensive training to doctorate level. My aims are to reduce distress and improve psychological wellbeing of clients. I am trained to work with a diverse range of clients to understand their difficulties or distress and to support the individual to develop skills and strategies to manage differently. Clinical Psychologists are able to use their extensive training and ability to use a range evidence-based treatments to suit each individual.

2. Will what I say be kept confidential?

Yes. Therapy can be a very personal experience and it is important that you feel safe. I take protection of your personal information seriously.

I will only ever use details to contact you to arrange appointments or communicate with you. I will never contact you for any other purpose. I will never pass on information to another party without permission and these parties would only ever be those involved in your care (e.g. your GP).

3. What is your cancellation policy?

The full session fee will be charged for appointments missed or cancelled without a minimum of 48 hours prior notice. This is because the slot would not be able to be reallocated.

4. Do you provide Medico-Legal Work?

I am able to provide medico-legal assessment and reports. Please contact me for further information about this.

5. What are your qualifications?
  • Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, University of Surrey, 2019
